With third graders we are starting on equations and in and out rules. If you use the "Everyday Math" series, you should be familiar with these "math machines." I created a life size machine for someone to wear and I think it's a fun way to motivate the students! One child will wear the "machine" while another student can put a number into the in opening. Have the students discuss on what number will come out based on the rule provided. This is an interactive tool that I am excited to share! Click more to see how I created this!

Hobbies
When I have an hour to spare (which is rarely ha) I like to create canvas art. This is a gift I created for a friend. I think homemade gifts are more meaningful for your loved ones. The sides are painted in a teal color which looks great when one looks at it on an angle. Love creating these!

Chalkboard Letters
I love giving gifts and this is a cute gift idea that you can give to a teacher, a friend, or to anyone who has initials (haha). Even make it for yourself! I gave this gift to my friend who was leaving to teach abroad and thought this would be a nice gift for her desk/classroom! Read more to find out how I made it!

Treat Yourself - Banana Ice Cream
After a long day at work you just want to go home and stuff your face with food. Or is that just me?
Ice cream is my guilty pleasure and I love it way too much. I learned a great alternative to soft serve ice cream that is a little bit healthier but still has a great taste! The main ingredient is... BANANAS!
Who knew bananas could make an ice cream like snack?
Keep reading to find out how to make this yummy snack!
